OECD 211: Daphnia magna reproduction test
A Daphnia Magna Reproduction Test assesses the impact of a test substance on the reproduction of d. magna, a small planktonic crustacean. For both static and flow-through tests, female daphnia are added to a mixture of water and the test substance.
Reproductive rates and offspring survival rates are recorded, as well as important water metrics such as pH and oxygenation. From this, one can observe the average total detriment to daphnia reproduction caused by a substance.
